The Age of the Stand Alone Website Is Over
I started AmericanDelusions.com in 2017.1 Since then, I have written 417 posts on a wide range of topics. Over the past four years, I have focused primarily on research and writing about how American capitalism has changed—the tsunami of income and wealth inequalities and the consequential growth of insecurities for the bottom 90% of the population. I continue to work on a book on this topic: Capitalism Revealed – discover how capitalism creates insecurities and inequality for most of us (more here about that topic —->>).
Several years ago, I began to explore platforms for writing. Medium and Substack included. I published sporadically on both. Substack has evolved rapidly into a multi-modal platform for all sorts of creative activities. Substack now provides written articles, podcasts, and videos. In addition, there are opportunities for chat among readers. This will be a much richer environment to learn about and discuss the issues of the day. And, having clicked over to CapitalismRevealed on Substack you can then explore the many thousands of writers and creators working there. I will be making recommendations for those I find of interest.
To support my forthcoming book on the last fifty years of American capitalism, I am focusing on those topics.
All of my research and writing is now on Substack. Why Substack?
Substack is a rich environment of writing and other media, some live, on a very wide range of topics. It has no advertising, except for the pleas for paid subscriptions. Once you have subscribed to some Substacks of interest to you, the latest posts from your choices will appear in your Inbox. As already noted, the focus of my Substack is topics related to how the explosion in income and wealth inequality and the intensification of insecurities for most Americans happened.
Substack is available for web browsers and both Apple and Android mobile apps.
I use the Substack Notes feature to comment on other issues. For example, here is my comment on the Democrats’ response to Trump’s speech before Congress on 3.4.2025: “Is This The Best The Democrats Can Come Up With??!“
If you prefer to listen to the posts, you can use the “Read-aloud” version.

If you like a post, click on Like, or think it can be improved, use the Comment feature. As a participant on Substack, you can create your own stack of interesting posts by using the Restack button. You can also share a post with the Share button. BTW, all of these activities help to increase the likelihood that others will discover my work.

Other Features of Substack
Substack also provides a platform for podcasts, videos, and live streaming video. As I become more familiar with these elements of the platform, I will doubtless do more with them. You can listen to an early experiment with my post “The Need for Class Warfare“. I really like that the AI reader makes it clear that an AI system is involved. You can also find a couple of YouTube videos I created a couple of years ago. here is: “The Monopolization of the Economy & Zephyr Teachout’s Break’Em Up”
BTW – I will continue to post new material here at AmericanDelusions.com and at CapitalismRevealed.com in parallel with the posts on Substack.
So, now available on Substack —->>>.
AmericanDelusions.com is mothballed.
CapitalismRevealed.com is very much alive with posts in parallel with my Substack posts.
